Phase 4 and 5 Update

28 May 2025

We’re excited to share that the Goderich Street Resurfacing project is moving forward on an accelerated schedule. This change means we’re on track to finish the project in early July - several weeks ahead of the original timeline.

Completing the work sooner will reduce the overall disruption to the surrounding area — a win for everyone, especially our local businesses. A shorter construction period means improved customer access and a faster return to normal operations. Once complete, the area will be able to take full advantage of the infrastructure improvements, increased public activity, and visual enhancements that this project will deliver.

What to Expect

Timing

You’ll notice lots of activity on Goderich Street in the coming weeks as we move through the next stages of work:

Phase 4:

  • June 2–6: Milling (Catherine Street to Concession 6/Bruce Road 25)
  • June 9–13: Paving (Catherine Street to Concession 6/Bruce Road 25)

Phase 5:

  • June 9–13: Milling (Market St. to Concession 10)
  • June 16–20: Paving (Market St. to Concession 10)

Traffic

  • While these phases will involve lane restrictions, traffic flow will be maintained throughout this portion of the project.
  • The Mill and Overlay (aka Shave and Pave) method will be used to resurface the street. This method allows for traffic to continue in other lanes while work is completed. Visit the project page for more information on this method.

We appreciate your continued patience and support as we work to complete this project ahead of schedule and with long-term community benefits in mind.
