As part of the Ministry of Transportation’s (MTO) Connecting Link Program, funding was received for rehabilitation work along Goderich Street between Concession 6 and Concession 10.

The project involved the resurfacing of the asphalt on Goderich Street, as well as the restoration of the historic brick intersections in the downtown Port Elgin. Additionally, there was some underground work completed including water system upgrades under the downtown intersections and storm infrastructure replacement on the South end of town.

Resurfacing Method

The Mill and Overlay (aka Shave and Pave) method was used to resurface the street. This method allows for traffic to continue in other lanes while work is completed.
