The Town of Saugeen Shores is initiating improvements to the intersection of Highway 21 and Bruce Road 13 (Turner Street) in Southampton. This is a critical junction for both local residents and seasonal visitors.

Currently, the intersection features stop signs along the north-south route and dedicated left-turn lanes on Highway 21, which runs east-west with a posted speed limit of 50 km/h. Despite these measures, the intersection has faced ongoing safety and operational challenges, particularly during peak travel seasons.

To address these challenges, the project is recommending a single-lane roundabout to improve traffic flow and safety. The final design is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, with construction scheduled to begin in 2026.

We recognize this intersection is a vital junction for residents, businesses, visitors, and travelers. Here's how we are minimizing disruptions:

• This project is planned to proceed in coordination with the Southampton Highway 21 Resurfacing Project to ensure both initiatives complement each other and progress smoothly.
• Detours will be provided as required.
• Work will be staged thoughtfully to reduce impacts to traffic and businesses.
